Great tips and reminders. There is definitely nothing wrong to be prepared. After all, we only have one body and it’s only up to us to take care of ourselves. Have fun in Arizona!

Lauren, any tips on breaking the Diet Coke and sugar habit?? I’ve been on a “detox/cleanse” routine a little over a week and I’m having a helluva time quitting the DC and cutting out sugar.

Sandy- I have been there- caffeine + sugar is a helluva drug! After years of drinking coffee every single day, it took me almost 2 months to feel normal and not experience headaches or withdrawals! I know for me as well it was hard to give up the routine too, so I find the best way to get through it is to substitute your vices with something somewhat similar. Have you tried coconut water or perhaps an iced tea with some sweetener like stevia? Which brings me to sugar- my favorite all natural sweeteners include stevia (an herbal sweetener that’s perfect to add to teas, coffee and drinks), coconut nectar (very-low glycemic sweetener) and pure grade by maple syrup. Let me know if you want to chat further, happy to help. Good luck! PS- Thanks for the amazing greens, I added them in our green smoothies and steamed some with dinner tonight too. So yummy!

HI Lauren, I’m behind in responding! Thanks for your tips on breaking the sugar/D C habit. Well no Dcoke yesterday or today. I go one or two days then breakdown. I guess the bottomline is you gotta want it bad enough. Maybe I’m just not quite there yet.

BTW…I came across a yummy hemp protein bar that I love. Got it from Green Kitchen Stories http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/raw-hemp-protein-bars/. They’re supposed to be bars but for some reason my are crumbling and are more like granola but it still tastes great. A friend of mine made them and hers were fine. Clearly I’m missing something. Let me know if you try them.

Great tips! You talk about these best practices in a way that totally makes sense for those of us on the go! Best part is, these are all totally manageable too. Thanks!!!! Great job on the blog, keep it up!
